Tonight Mum, myself and a few others took our annual pilgrimage to the panto at Wimbledon Theatre, which this season was Peter Pan.
However, first a quick catch-up of what happened over the seasonal period.
Mum and I had a quiet, relaxing Christmas, where we enjoyed a meal of roast Gressingam duck, gammon and all the trimmings. We spent a day at my cousin's catching up with members of the family. A friend and I went to see the new Star Wars film, which was fantastic. I then caught up with another friend I hadn't seen for over a year. Then I had a quiet New Year at home.
Back to the panto. This year, one of my favourute comedians starred as Captain Hook - Marcus Brigstocke. Known more as a political satirist, this allowed him to show off his lighter side as he made a great villain. He could also relive his podum dancing days as he threw some shapes with his crew made up from the street dance crew Flawless.
New Zealander Jarred Christmas played Mr Smee. Having had the pleasure of seeing him 3 years ago in Snow White, I knew I was in for a treat as he brought his particular brand of humour to the show. I'm very much looking forward to seeing his stand up later this year.
The other star was Verne Troyer, probably best known as Austin Power's Mini Me, playing Lofty the Pirate with a big attitude. The rest of the cast were also fantastic in a panto that combined traditional elements with cotemporary street dance - providing a little something for everyone.
