So it was back into GHQ routine again this morning, with everyone waking up about 6/6:30am, having been able to crash in there last night. I managed to sneak breakfast with everyone else too, then went to see what the surf was doing...and it was pretty useless.
The report for the next week while I'm here looks less than encouraging, probably going be flat out the front most the time, but may be a wave on Mullaway and the more open beaches.
In the end I went for a Foamie session with Dan, Hannah and E-Man (who is back again from when I was on Academy!) which was still good fun in the clean 1ft waves. Plus it had been quite a hot sunny day, so being out in boardies again has been awesome!
We stayed out for a while, then came back in later on and had a board repair session. Fortunately my board hasn't got any damage to need repairing, but both Dan's boards had damage so we fixed those up.
Later I managed to sneak some lunch, and then spent most the rest of the afternoon monging around camp with everyone else. It was great to catch up with the people I met here last time, but even some of those had moved on and been replaced by others. I also watched a film called 'Source Code.
At dinner I found Kev to have a bit of a chat, let him know I am going to be here for a while etc. Unfortunately the whole place is much more strict on the rules than last time. If I want to eat here I need to buy proper food vouchers and im not allowed to crash in GHQ, as if his boss's find out he is in trouble. It was a bit niece to think I could just turn up and be as lucky as last time..
Fortunately one of the instructors called Jimmy lives down on the campsite and owns a plot, where he has a caravan and a few spare beds etc. and was kind enough to let me crash there. I've got to be a bit careful no one finds out but it's better than the car each night again!
