This morning I woke up about 8am and went and had some breakfast. I had already decided it would be my last day at camp, as otherwise I would just never leave. Although it is great fun, it's not why I started a road trip..
I sorted out my car and said all my goodbyes to everyone by about 11am. It was very similar, but different, to leaving last time. It was horrible saying goodbye, but this time I know exactly what im doing going off exploring the coast, although I am alone and not with the guys. I guess as I was only there a week and had done it before, which is why I wasn't blubbing this time, but I had a kinda numb and sad feeling which wasn't very nice.
I think when I drive back up to Queensland to sell the car I will drop in for a day or 2 to see them a final time before Bali next year. We'll see..
I also spoke to the car garage I got my wagon from, and asked what to do about the cigarette lighter being broken. He suggests I just find a small garage as anyone can fix it, so I guess I will try and find one ASAP.. Not being able to charge my phones or SatNav is a HUGE!! pain in the ass.
From the camp I went half an hour down to Coffs Harbour, where I went and got some supplies from Aldi, and spent AGES in Macca's on the Internet. Unfortunately the Internet was playing up so didn't get to do everything I wanted, but still managed to message mum and some mates from home on Facebook and WhatsApp so they know I'm still alive.
From there I was just driving through Coffs, knowing it was my best bet for finding a car garage. I stumbled across a Hyundai Dealer and Service Centre luckily enough, so I went in and spoke to the bloke in there. Russell who I spoke to was right though - it was expensive and they would want to replace the part which would take 2 days to come. Instead the bloke directed me down the road to an 'Auto Electrician' place, so I went and spoke to them. The guy in there seemed nice enough and said they could have a look 8am tomorrow, so that was decided.
From there I went down to Park Beach in the middle of Coffs and went for a surf. It was quite a fun 1/2ft, but after an hour or so it turned pretty rubbish and I got out. Instead I went cruising around on my skateboard as there was a good cycle path along the sea front which was good fun.
Later I went back to the road where the Auto Electricians are based, and found a quiet little housing area to sleep for the night.
It's only half a day since I left Spot X so I shouldn't expect anything different, but laying in 'bed' by myself with no one to talk to or messing about around the room was pretty lonely.
