Today I was up at 8:30am, as usual, and was greeted to a very similar day of surf - about 2-3ft again, but still very windy. After breakfast etc I decided to go surfing again despite poor conditions, as Linda, Sam, Oli, Ross and Felix were going.
The surf actually turned out to be slightly better than the day before as we were surfing further down the beach. However we only stayed in there for about an hour.. Ross paddled for a wave, about 1ft away from me, and Linda and Sam started screaming 'shark!!'. We all safely caught the next wave into the beach where, I found out Ross had actually had a shark chase him as he paddled for the wave... Made me realise anything could have been around me surfing the same area yesterday and I could have been oblivious to it, just like I was today. Bit unnerving really.
We then surfed right out in front of the camp where the waves werent as good, but we still had fun. We also had a pod of about 5-6 dolphins casually swim within 10ft of Charlie and I, check us out, and slowly swim away again. It's happened a couple of times now, but it's still so cool!
I had the afternoon shift at work again so I got out the water and started work at 12. Again it was a very uneventful shift, until I had to show a new arrival round. She told me about a place where 'people go to fruit farm, and surf at weekends'. I got very excited and did some research right away, and now Charlie, Dave, Dan and I are aiming for this small town called 'Mooloolaba' just south of Noosa. All we need to do is book bus tickets for our leaving day, if a phone call goes well tomorrow, and we will be there soon after leaving camp!!
After dinner I watched a film with Cescia and then went to bed about 11pm.
I have the 6am shift tomorrow, so bound to be tired again..
