This morning was a nightmare - I had the early shift to work (which normally is one of the best ones) and it went a bit pea shaped. Instead of getting up at 6am I had to get up at 5:15am, to go an pick up a client from a bus stop, and bring them to camp. I got there early and waited..and waited...and waited. By 6:20am they were 35 minutes late and hadn't appeared, so I just came back to camp, and had got up early for no reason.
At 7:30am I am then asked by Tom - 'did you forget about the pick up, she's waiting there right now'. Having explained the story it was fine, I drove back..again, picked her up and eventually came back to camp. Turns out head office cocked up, and they have done it a few times recently.
Anyway, the rest of the shift went pretty quickly and before I knew it, it was lunch time.
After lunch there was no surf out front yet again, so I just chilled out on the grass in the sun with the academy.
About 2:30pm I was bored of being lazy, so went for a run over the headland to Mulawarra in the hope of finding a little wave to surf.
I went for a swim and it turned out there were some nicely breaking 2ft waves coming through. I ran back to camp rounded up Lenny, got ready, grabbed my short board and ran back again.
We surfed for about 1 and a half hours until it started to get dark, and had a really fun little session. It was good to be back on my board instead of a ruddy foamie, and the waves were really fun.
I'm just laying in bed writing this now and waiting for dinner. We will probably just another movie tonight and go to bed.
It's the Champions League final tomorrow, and im Woking at 6am again, so it would be rude not to get up at 4am to watch it!
