Well today has been a...new...experience that's for sure! I got up at 4:30am with Lenny to watch the Real Madrid V B.Munich Champions League semi final. We decided to make a run of it, so ended up knocking back a 6 pack of beers and 2 goon's each in the process. Unsurprisingly we were pretty merry after drinking on an empty stomach, so we're having a great time! Real lost 2-1 and we went for breakfast and coffee at 7am.
Both still feeling rather drunk we went out on our 7:30am surf lesson at Mulawarra where it was a fun 1ft and clean...when we were able to ride our boards properly.
Rhys and Linton also chose the 'perfect' day to mix it up a little, and make us all take our leg ropes off! So if you didnt catch your board after each wave you suffered a rather gruelling swim to the beach to collect our board and then paddle out from scratch again..
We were back in camp by about 10:30am, so Lenny and I have just bummed about and been on the Wifi feeling the beggining of a hangover and super tired ever since..
This afternoon I went for a sleep and then was woken up by Paul to tell my board bag had arrived! Im super pleased with it - it will comfortably fit 2 boards in it if needed, and it's really well padded for travelling. Plus it was a bargain!
I asked Yvonne to have a look at my back this afternoon as she is a physio and I have been in quite a lot of discomfort since yesterday morning. It turns out my back/rib joints had seized up and all the muscles around it locked up and cramped (the same problem I had back home that Andy Baldwin fixed for me).
About 3:30pm I walked to Mulawarra with Paul and Lasse to watch some of the others surf as a swell has eventually arrived!! It's pretty big already, with sets breaking over head, so everyone is super excited about tomorrow.
After dinner we watched Anchor Man 2 which was a huge disappointment. I don't understand what it's about, or even why they bothered.
There is the other Semi Final at 4:30am tomorrow (Barca V Chelsea) which I would love to watch, but I am so tired it's unlikely I will get up. Instead I have taken some pain killers for my back and going to surf on our lesson at 7am..
