Tonight I was on Birmingham to see The Human League. Being in the Birmingham, I naturally had to visit The Handmade Burger Company for their Jimmy's Farm Burger with Brie and Bacon, Cheesy Chips and Oreo Milkshake. Yummy! Tonight I saw the fantastic Midge Ure at the lovely Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury. As when I saw him last year, the support was provided by the extremely talented duo India Electric Company. Again they played a great set and then were back on stage as Midge's backing band. The theme of this year's tour was Something From Everything, where Midge played a song from each of his 14 albums, a set that took over 1 and a half hours. The final few songs were The Damned ...

Another trip for Mum and I to the Yvonne Arnuad Theatre on Guildford, this time to see Emlyn Williams psychological thriller Night Must Fall. Set in a remote part of Essex, the story features a bitter, invalid old lady who takes in and befriends the young lad Dan. The acting from the whole cast was brilliant, but Dan was fantastic. A great show.

On bonfire night, Mum and I headed back down to Guildford to see a cracker of a show at the Yvonne Arnuad Theatre. The cast of E.M. Forster's A Room With A View was led by Felicity Kendall. The story is set around the start of the 20th century as Kendall's character chaperones a young lady in Venice, where they meet a father a son. Later, back in England, the young lady and son meet again.... This was a fantastic production.

Mum and I drove down to Guildford to see the lesser known Noel Coward play This Happy Breed. Mum loves the film that was made in 1944 while I knew nothing about the story. It was presented by the Pitlochry Theatre Company, and was a fantastic production.
