The journey is complete and we're now back in the UK, having completely circumnavigated the globe.
Smaug, in case you haven't been keeping up he's our plane, had been very hot on the flight to LA but on this leg was the more usual temperature you get in planes. Maybe he'd used some of the fire in his belly to vent frustration at the authorities in LA?
Expecting an 11 hour flight, imagine our delight and joy at being told it was going to be just 9 hours. I'm not sure why, but instead of the usual over Canada route, we went across The States, over New York before heading across The Atlantic. We were also helped by a following wind of around 250km/h. Must've been the beans I'd had with breakfast!
For supper we had chicken. I didn't manage to get any sleep this time but did watch The Imitation Game - a cracking film.
For breakfast we had an omelette. After disembarking, we said farewell to Smaug and sped our way through the formalities at Heathrow before being picked up by our friend.
The next few days will be occupied with recovering and catching up with friends and family before normality returns in its full glory.
At some point I shall post a summary of the trip, as well as adding more photos, but it is suffice for the moment to say it was fantastic!
