Kia Ora
Well folks we have our car back from the bodyshop and everything looks as good as new, it has been an eventful few weeks as last weekend we went to a bike auction to check out loads of old bikes including a '48 Indian and a a 1912 triumph. It was a real treat and one we enjoyed a lot, unfortunately they were out of our price range so I settled for a t-shirt instead which was in our price range!!!!
We had been waiting all week to find out about Mel's job and although she had the best interview of all 4 people shortlisted, her qualification isn't recognised here in NZ so the job was given to no one,so at the minute we are up in the air as to where Mel will be working after Xmas but one way or another she has a job somewhere.
Undeterred by the news we took the ferry to the City to join some fellow brits in a pub quiz which turned out to be great fun even though we ended up coming 5th as we need to brush up on our kiwi artists!!!
Friday finally arrived and we had a night in as the week had been busy and we wanted to be up early on Saturday to go to Grey Lynn for the festival in the park. It was a muggy day as we rode over the bridge towards the park and after struggling to find a parking space we went into the park for a look around. It was pretty cool with lots of stalls and a music stage with people everywhere. The weather started to warm up and we were boiling in the bike gear!!!!
Once we were home it was on the ferry again and then the LINK bus to Newmarket for a looka round the shops and a late lunch courtesy of the coupon book!!!!
After a few hours we headed to the viaduct to our favourite bar for bubbly, this bars speciality is steak on a red hot slab of marble and you cook it to your liking right there on the table which is cool and very popular.
We had a huge lie in on Sunday as we only had the Xmas parade in Aucklnad to go have a look at, so it was back on the ferry and into the city with around 100,000 other people to watch the parade rumble by,unfortunately it was quite breezy so the big inflatables had to be left out which was a shame as they were the best bit last year...
As another week draws to a close we are already looking forward to the next few weekends with treats like the works Xmas party and Devonport parade before breaking for a well deserved break until New Year which will be ace as we have a few things planned.
Lots of Love
M & M
