Friday 19th December 2008
Friday started off in a positive way as Mel received a phone call regarding a job opportunity.I can't elaborate too much yet until she has met with the company next Monday but things are looking quite positive and we will update you as soon as we have any information. The whole thing took us by surprise and left us feeling buoyant and it was a nice way to start the weekend and it will mean in the new year we can start the ball rolling which would mean a real busy time for us both.
Next was to prepare ourselves for Xmas day kiwi style which meant a visit to Warehouse to pick up an esky and picnic gear for our day at the beach.By mid afternoon we were fully equipped and ready for the big day.

I woke up and wasn't feeling a 100% this morning but just put it down to not eating enough on Friday, and sure enough by the time I had eaten breakfast I was feeling much better.Earlier in the week I had seen an advertisement for an open day at the Harley dealership in Newmarket so we decided to have a ride down to take a look around. They were advertising the brand new Sportster 883L for around $12,500 (5 grand) which is a great deal, unfortunately they had none in stock until May.
The sales guy showed me a 1200 Custom on the showroom floor in two tone blue which was ready to go and all chromed up but at $18000 it was al ittle more than we wanted to pay but it was a gorgeous bike and it was really comfortable to sit on.We drove away to have a think about it, but I decided to look around for a cheaper run around for 6-7 months before committing to a new bike it seemed like the sensible decision and waiting never hurt anyone.
As the sun was out today we decided to head for the beach for the remainder of the evening but within 30 minutes of laying out our new picnic rug the heavens opened and it sent us scurrying back home.
Sunday 21st December 2008
Continuing the BBQ theme we had another lined up for today but we didn't have to travel far as it was at Sue and David's (our landlords.)
They welcomed us into their home to share a xmas celebration with some of their family and as usual Mel was on the bubbly and didn't need asking twice!!!
We spent all day there and the food and company was really good and although the sun wasn't out it was warm enough for us although one or two of the locals had their jackets on!!!
It was certainly the shortest journey home from any party we have ever been to and within 10 seconds of leaving we were back in our house sat on the sofa!!!
Lots of Love
