Kia Ora
Mel was up earlier than me today as she had a big meeting to chair so I left her to get ready while I had breakfast.Once I was full on muesli I got ready for work and waved goodbye to Mel. As I rode to work I was feeling really relaxed and felt like I had done enough work to get through the test today.
The trainer sat us all apart and we were given our papers and when the time came we turned them over and began. It threw me a bit of a curveball and took me a while to get going but once I had read through it I just took my time and worked slowly. I was the last to leave the room and met up with everyone else in the tea room to wait for the results.
It took 30 minutes then we were called back in one by one to get our results and feedback,my turn arrived and I was ushered in and sat down. It was tense but I was told I had passed and only got the one question wrong so I was happy. I was glad to be heading home after a full day in the classroom and I spent the night relaxing with Mel at home.
The next 2 days passed quickly as we went through lots more class work and by Wednesday evening we had learnt all about harassment and de escalation plus Pay and Display, most of the class were hoping to get out onto the street tomorrow and stretch our legs.
Thursday saw me set off for work before daylight had broke as i had an 8am start.Unfortunately we were indoors again today but at the court to see how the legal process worked as it is quite possible we could end up in court and get challenged on tickets we issue.
Friday saw us out on the street and it was raining heavily as we walked around the city and it became apparent that there would be plenty of opportunity to issue tickets. It had been the wettest day in a long time and by the time I got home some of the rain had penetrated my bike gear and I was a little wet. Luckily by the time we set off into town the rain had stopped and it was a nice walk along the waterfront.
I woke up more tired than when I went to bed and I think going back to work is taking some adjustment!!!!!
Our first stop today was AMPS to look through all the cleaning gear they had and it took us some time to decide on which things to buy as the bike hasn't been washed for 3 months but still looked fairly clean. There were sprays for removing bugs and creams for leather and chrome but after a good poke around we left with what we needed. Next stop was Foodtown for the weekly shop and this week Mel had done the list, she had done it so well that we ended up spending $50 less than we would normally!!!!
While it was still dry I washed the bike down and Mel took care of cleaning the house, the sun was out but we were not sure how long it would stay and just as I wheeled the bike into the garage the rain started to fall. We headed into the city for the evening and spent a few hours under the bright lights of the city. I fell asleep in front of the TV and Mel had to wake me up to go to bed....
Sunday saw us head off to the baths to do our 32 lengths and I always like to go swiming as relaxing in the hot tub at the end is worth the trip alone.Back at the house we could feel Monday getting closer, and we had to get things ready for work tomorrow. Mel ironed the clothes and I did the lunches. Once all the jobs were done we sat down and enjoyed a cup of tea and read the papers.
As things have settled down into a fairly mundane routine I am going to put the blog on hold for now and will only post when we do anything worth writing about so for now this will be the last entry as I know you all don't want to just read about us working!!!!
Lots of Love
