HUAIROU & BEIJING CITY, Beijing Province:
Got up - a fairly painful experience after last night's late one! But made it out of bed anyway, and into school on time to meet Emily.
Picked up my Korean wages, but had to come back later for the bill's money, so quickly popped back home to check Sarah was up, and provide some much-needed hangover juice drinks!
Made it back into school on time again to Mr Mang's office, where I collected the last of our money and said goodbye to him and Miss Cao. He was very sweet, as usual, and invited me and Sarah back to the school at any time in the future.
Once I got back to the apartment (after picking up some hot choc and lunch for the both of us) I was starting to run out of energy, so we both decided to get a taxi into Beijing, thinking the high cost compared to the bus would way out weigh all the effort and grief subway- and bus-ing it would cause!
Walked to Macdonalds to find a taxi driver, who drove us back to the apartment to pick up our stuff, to the school to hand in our keys and for a final goodbye to Emily, and then the hour or so's drive to our hostel in Wangfujing.
We finally got to the hostel and checked in, absolutely knackered but determined to keep going! We dumped off all our stuff and went to get some food, and then we went to the Peking Opera.
I didn't think I'd like it, and I really, really didn't, but I'm glad I went! Definately not my kind of thing, but I don't think I'd've felt right, living in Beijing and not going to see their famous opera!
Stopped off at Wangfujing food street on the way back to the hostel, and got completely robbed for having Western faces... Then fell pretty much straight to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow!
