HUAIROU, Beijing Province:
Only two classes this morning, so was finished by lunchtime! My two best classes - Class 1 & Class 2, so the lessons went smoothly and most of the students did what I asked. So refreshing!
Really hot again today - for lunch we went to Macdonalds as a treat, had chips! Sarah went back to school for more lessons and I wandered home, and bumped into one of the teachers from the Korean school (where I work Saturday mornings).
We went back to Macdonalds and had 'milk tea'... and some more chips. He's from Korea (the Korean department is quite multicultural! Teachers from Korea, China, the Phillipines... & England now!), and I learnt that my name sounds like the Korean word for '1' (1 = hana). Bit disappointing really!
In the evening we went to Mini Food Street for dinner, and one beer turned into quite a few... Was a good night though - met another teacher from a different school who seems lovely - hopefully we'll be able to meet up with her sometime.
Long story, but Mini Food Street seriously overcharged us, so I don't think we'll be going back there again. Not to that specific part anyway!
