BEIJING CITY, Beijing Province:
Got up a bit later than intended... TTC have organised a meal this evening for all the interns that have been placed in Beijing, and we'd planned to do some touristy things before the meal.
We eventually arrived into Beijing - the journey was nowhere-near as complicated as Cao Yanna had made out! She said we'd need to get 5 different buses... we got one, which took us straight to pretty near the centre of Beijing!
Looking at the map, it looked like we were really close to the Lama Temple - not a place I'd heard of, but as we had a couple of hours to kill we thought it'd be a good time-filler.
However, it took so long to walk there (our map isn't so good I think!), that by the time we arrived, it was nearly closing time! One look at the entrance to the temple though, and both me and Sarah decided it was definately a place we'd want to visit at another time.
We found a Starbucks in Wangfujing - a big shopping place, and enjoyed a lovely mocha frappucino - yum yum!
We jumped in a taxi and made across the city to meet the others. Dinner was OK, it was really cool to see everyone again. We stayed over at Rachael & Aniela's place with Chris, as the last bus had left Beijing at 8pm.
