Sam and Stu's Kiwi Travels
Well, there'd been some snow up at the Remarkables and we had spent the last few weeks up there so we now thought that it was time to head back to Coronet, plus I had heard that there may be Lifty jobs going up there so we had to take a look!
I got the early bus up there, leaving Sam in bed to rest. I was there by 9am for the first chair of the day, and the conditions had got a lot better since the last time that we were up here! There was a lot more snow on the pistes and all the kids had gone back to school! Perfect, there wasn't a queue for the Coronet Express to the top of the mountain so I was off!
After a couple of runs and finding out that my socks were too thick! I took them off and just had bare feet in my boots, lucky they're really warm!! It was time to find out if there were jobs going. I asked one of the lifties and they told me to ask at customer services, but he also told me that people had been asking on a daily basis, which didn't sound good.
So I headed to customer services and enquired about a possition as a lifty! There weren't any that she knew of and told me to apply on the web site as that was the quickest way.. somehow I don't think that's going to work and we're going to take our cv up in person.
Sam joined me around 11am and headed for the green run for a warm up ski. We then headed up the express again and came down here a few times before heading in for a hot chocolate and some food. Fish and chips were the order of the day and we were off again for a few more runs.
I tried moving the back binding of my board today to see if made a difference. To be honest I felt that it did to start with, I had more control in the turns, and I was able to ride Goofy on the board as well as regular! But unfortunatley I was lacking control on my heal side so I had to change it back... much better, but I'll keep trying.
We caught the 3:45 bus back to town and were dropped off at the Kingsgate. Once back at the flat we dunped the stuff and heade to town. We returned a dvd and got some food shopping, then back to the flat to watch 24.
