Sam and Stu's Kiwi Travels
Yey!!! Back skiing again!!! I still wasn't feeling great so Stu caught the early bus up to the Remarkables and I followed him up on the later bus so I had plenty of time to take all my medicines and wrap up warm!!!
I met Stu up at the base area around 11 and we headed up the mountain. They definately had more snow now than they had last week and the slopes were starting to look much better! We had a really good afternoons skiing - I got to practise my turns in the new snow and Stu practised going the other way on his board!!
We headed in for lunch about 2:30 and sat and ate our sandwiches out on the terrace. We decided to catch the 3:30 bus back to town as I was starting to feel a bit worse for wear and our favourite chair lift had just been closed due to technical problems.
Once we got home we both collapsed on the sofa and had a bit of a power nap!! Lazy bums.
When we woke up Stu ran our rent upstairs to Adrianne and Bevan (our landlords who live above us) and found out that Bevan had broken his shoulder a few days ago! They had had their family down from Christchurch for a week for the school holidays and had taken their grandchildren skiing up to Coronet Peak. While they were there a snowboarder plowed into the back of Bevan and broke his shoulder! Such a shame -it's not all bad news though cos their daughter's surprised them with a trip to Fiji so they're off for two weeks on Tuesday!!
Time to cook some dinner and off to bed as we're skiing again tomorrow!!
