Sam and Stu's Kiwi Travels
Moving day again!! But at least this was our last moving day in Queenstown... Another early start as we had to pack and be out of the Copthorne by 10. We watched the Germany Argentina game as we packed - went all the way to penalties!!! Wouldn't want a penalty shoot out against the Germans, that's for sure!! By 10:30 we had our cab loaded up and we were off to our new flat! We met Bevan our land lord outside the door as they were doing the finnishing touches to the cleaning, and lugged all our stuff inside. Once we'd unpacked and the new cooker had arrived we headed into town to do our first weekly shop!! We stopped at Info&Track to book our first excursion - an overnight cruise to Milford Sound next weekend (the 8th wonder of the world don't you know!), and also bought a Lord of the Rings location guide book - we are going to put this to good use next week when we hire a car to take us down to Milford and back! We also stopped to scope out the sports bar, where we are hoping to watch England beat Portugal very early Monday morning! We finally made it to the supermarket and as usual, what was meant to be a quick shop, turned into feeding the 5,000! Luckily for us, half way round the supermarket we bumped into Bevan (his Daughter and her kids are coming over for the school holidays so he was stocking up the cupboards - we still managed to buy double the amount he did though!!) who kindly offered to give us a lift home with all our shopping. All in all we've had a pretty lucky few days! Once back at the flat we unpacked the shopping, did some well needed washing, repaired Sam's ski jacket - which she ripped on the coach yesterday :o( and had a bit of a siesta before dinner.
