Sam and Stu's Kiwi Travels
We decided to treat ourselves this morning as it was our last full day at the Copthorne - we were woken up at 8:45 by room service delivering a whole trolley full of goodies!! We had both ordered a full English breakfast the night before and we had sausages, bacon, hash browns, beans, mushrooms, a cheese omlette...you name it, it was there!!! We also had, toast, cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt, danish pastries, croissants, english breakfast tea and some chocolate milk!!!! Little pigwigs we are!! Needless to say we couldn't eat all that in one sitting so we tucked into the cooked breakfast and the toast and saved the rest for later!!! After breakfast we watched a bit of Wimbledon from the day before and then got ready to get the ski shuttle back up to the Remarkables for the day. We caught the 10:25 shuttle and were on teh slopes by 11:30. It was much clearer up there today, no clouds at all so we had an amazing view on the way up and from the slopes. There wasn't quite so much powder today though as it was a bit warmer and the pistes had been well and truely bashed, so some of the snow had melted abit. Was still really good skiing though! Stu and I decided to try our hand at a few more jumps today - we found a snow covered rock down one of the steeper runs that served quite well as a mini launch pad!! Every time we went down that run we did a little jump over our rock - quite tricky landing though as the jump was off piste and the landing surface was really uneven! I was quite chuffed with myself as I managed to land all my jumps.....unfortunately more than I can say for Stu!!! He dissappeared into a cloud of snow a couple of times as he fell on his bum landing!!! He landed most of them though... hee hee!! I guess you've either got it or you haven't!!!! :0) We also found another couple of jumps on our way round our regular runs that we've been practising on so hopefully by the end of the hoiday we might be able to give the board park a go!!! We got the last shuttle back from the Remarkables at 4:30, had a quick cuppa back at the hotel and then headed out for some dinner at Avanti, a little Italien restaurant in Queenstown. After dinner we headed back to the Copthorne and jumped into what's probably going to be our last Spa, for a while at least, before bed.
