Sam and Stu's Kiwi Travels
Today we decided to have a well deserved lie in and a bit of a lazy day after all this early morning skiing!!! We got up about 10:30 and pottered around the house just generally tidying and sorting stuff out until lunchtime, when we headed to town. There is a local paper called the "Lakes Weekly Bulletin" that is letting people put in free 20 word adverts for the next couple of weeks to celebrate it's first birthday. I've decided to sell my old 180cm skis as they are too long for both me and Stu and I had written out an advert this morning, so we headed to their office in town to see if I could get my advert printed. They said it was fine and that it would be in next Tuesday's issue so fingers crossed I get some interest!! We had decided to book our Milford Sounds trip for this weekend so we headed to 'Info and Snow' to book it up. We wanted to go on an overnight cruise but they are few and far between in the Winter months. We had popped in a few days ago to find out if the cruises ran in the Winter and we knew there was one going this weekend, and that the next one wasn't for another 6 weeks. Luckily they still had a double cabin available this weekend so we booked it up and headed to Omega to book a rental car for the weekend to get us to Milford. I was quite excited about our little cruise as i've never been on a cruise before!! We decided to book the rental car for three days as we had been toying with the idea of doing our own little Lord of the Rings Locations Tour and we thought Monday would be a good day to do it as we already had to book a rental car for our weekend in Milford. So we booked our rental car and popped into the Lord of the Rings shop across the road to buy a locations guide for our little tour. We nosed around a few shops, checked our e-mails and then decided to rent the three Lord of the Rings films from VideoEasy (New Zealands version of Blockbuster Video) so we could refresh our memories before our tour.
