Sam and Stu's Kiwi Travels
Stu caught the early Ski Shuttle again and I met him up at the Remarkables at 11. I was feeling much better today so I think I might get the early bus up with him tomorrow. Stu had ventured off up the Shadow chair this morning (It's only been open about a week as there hasn't been enough snow on that side of the mountain - it's a pretty steep chair and there are only two blue runs coming off it - the rest are all black!). He'd attemped his first proper black run but I think he'd bitten off a bit more than he could chew - he had to take his board off and walk at one point so I think we'll be sticking to the blue runs for the moment!!
We had a really good days skiing - I was feeling much more confident and we started tackling a few of the steeper blue runs. I managed to get down them without falling over and my turns are going pretty well so I was really happy with the way I was skiing. Stu's also much more confident on his board. He managed to get his jumping sorted and he's doing little jumps left, right and centre now!! Don't worry Liz, I've told him he's not allowed to tackle any of the proper jumps without investing in a helmet!
We stopped for lunch around 2 and then hit the slopes for another couple of hours before catching one of the last buses back at 4:15. Once we got home we headed into town to do a few odds and ends, internet, food shopping, etc before heading back home to cook some dinner. We watched the Saturday night movie 'Little Nicky' and off we went to bed again.
