We grabbed the subway to Times Square and walked across to the Circle Line ferry. We could not have times this better as they had just started boarding for the Best of NYC boat. It only cost $5 each to upgrade to this with our city pass.
I had done this on two occasions previously but this was a first for Becky. We made a slight error in purchasing some drinks on board as they were anything but cheap. Still the tour was very informative and the weather couldn’t have been better with some sunshine and good cloud cover for us as we were sat on the outdoor deck.
The tour lasts 2.5 hours, so when we were done it was time to head across to Queens. We did stop for a quick photo by the intrepid of course.
We struggled to find the subway stop so we’re slightly late to meet Sarah & my pal Tony. By the time we arrived in Flynn’s Garden Inn (The Vortex) Tony and Sarah were chatting away despite never having met.
The day passed by with Tony’s wife Margaret coming to join us, along with Emily, Gillian & John. Becky and I grabbed a meaty pizza slice from next door when it would have been cheaper to get a small pizza and share!
It was a great catch up session sat at the bar chatting to everyone including the owner Paul.
By evening time I was keen to go to another bar and play games but everyone seemed set on home. Due to the adverse weather, we got a lyft, rather than taking the longer journey back on the subway.
