On this trips there have been many times where I have felt my age. We certainly didn't do any particularly late night drinking as on previous trips. The regularity of the drink combined with temperatures always at least ten degrees if not more hotter than at home, certainly took its toll. I didn't leave the apartment until 12:00 on Monday. I was able to catch up with Barry before he headed to work & we had a very nice alcohol free lunch. We sat outside at Aunty's Arbor which I got the Shuttle too. At one point a guy walking by stopped to ask for some of our water. He then acted surprised when it was in fact just water! I had my final burger of the trip but we did share a humus starter. I then walked to Nostrand Avenue to connect to the A train. This wud take me directly to the AirTran service at Howard Beach. Without any internet my plans were halted when the train finished at Lefferts Avenue. Ignoring the many offers for taxis, I somehow got the Q10 bus to the Air Tran. The stop I got on at was part of the JFK loop so there was no charge for using it.
Leaving at the slightly earlier time of 17:45 & on this occasion from Terminal 4, meant I went through security very quickly. I walked the whole of gate B before finally grabbing a pint a Buffalo Wild Wings. The good news was that my flight was one of the only ones of the day that seemed to be on time today. Despite having been guided to check in via Delta, my flight turned out to be with KLM. When on board we were told our aircraft was larger than planned. This meant that I & the Estonian girl sat in the same row as me had extra space for the flight. She had very randomly been working as a door to door saleswoman in Champagne Illinois. Very random. With strong winds backing us the flight was only 6hrs 15mins & they had added some new films since my outward leg. I watched Spectre, Star Wars & most of London has fallen.
