Very kindly first thing Stefan made us bacon & eggs for breakfast. It was Friday in New York City we had to begin with a trip up the Empire State Building! Our city pass allowed us to skip the lines and head straight up to the outdoor area on the 86th floor. As it wasn’t too busy plus the weather was wonderful we were able to take our time going round the compass and take some good photos.
We walked through Bryant Park and up fifth avenue on the way to Rockafella Plaza. Sadly the next ticket time to go up the rock wasn’t for hours so we decided to come back another day. This did give us time though, to catch the subway to Roosevelt Island. We took a short walk around the island looking out towards Queens. A bite to eat was called for, & we grabbed some nachos to go with our Roosevelt island iced tea’s. Basically the same as a Long Island ice tea but in a pint glass and with Sprite & grenadine, to make it pink.
After this we took the iconic tram back into Manhattan from the island. It is always fun to do the tram as it is usually quiet & offers great views and is included in the price of our unlimited metro card. As time was against us now we grabbed the subway to meet Stefan at the frying pan. I have talked about this drinking boat before, a bucket of Corona’s was the drink of choice again. We sat in the sun listening to music and watching the helicopters land and take off. Stefan found us a nearby cocktail bar called Porchlight that was doing a happy hour. My Gin & honey drink was tremendous but Becky did not like her punch. Though it was presented very well.
For dinner we headed back to Brooklyn to link up at MISC. Everyone’s meal was lovely at this Asian restaurant. It did not have a liquor license so we were able to enjoy dinner and rehydrate.
On the way home we picked up some Jello for Becky to make some Jell-O shots. At home we played two games of Settlers of Catan the first Emily looked to be on the edge of winning as did I in the second. We were both pipped to the post by Stefan though.
