A gripping movie on sci fi, started the day at a slow pace. This was followed up by a run through Riverside Park & some sunbathing. It was just as hot as yesterday but at least I was prepared this time.
A cold shower & I took the subway to times square & walked to Pier 83. This pier is almost turning into a second home the amount of time I have spent there. Today was about riding the Beast. This high powered speed boat took us on a high speed ride down the Hudson. The turning point being the statue herself allowing us to take photos, from a closer vantage point than on the sightseeing Ferry.
I walked 61 blocks along the Hudson back to the park. Me & my great ideas. I was certainly feeling hot, I grabbed a cocktail at the cafe in the park as a reward.
I went back to Sarah's house & packed up. I did have time for a Skype conversation with Charlotte & Alan as well. The subway with bags in rush idea was always going to be a struggle. Getting an express from Times Square & coming back a stop to 52st, allowed me to at least get a seat. Having to wear jeans, shoes & shirt for the journey has once again left me suffering in the heat. That is the sacrifice though for not wanting to carry a suitcase everywhere.
We headed out for dinner at a local restaurant. We even braved sitting outside without air con!
After dinner I discovered a Scottish & newcastle product that I had never seen anywhere before. We grabbed a couple of beers then headed back to watch a couple of episodes of Geordie shore!
