Trying to sleep in the heat was quite difficult until the early hours of the morning, when I could close the window to shut out the noise of the 7 train.
I decided to get up at 07:30 & get the day started by doing some grocery shopping at the fresh & save. Bacon, eggs, orange juice, butter, grapes & of course the largest bottle of Mountain Dew they had. All the key ingredients of a staple diet!
In an effort to balance the calorific effect of being on holiday I went for a short 3mile run, which was harder than first thought at the temperature was already above 20degrees. After making breakfast in the apartment, I took the subway to Times Square & walked down to Macy's. My annual shopping trip is always a highlight & after chatting to the woman working in the Armarni Jeans section, I was able to secure a 20% discount. The store had different items in than I had looked at online, but I found two shirts, two jeans, & a belt to purchase. Just as I was feeling quite pleased with having done my shopping early doors, I was told to contact my bank. What resulted was the most annoying 15minute transatlantic phone call to an 0845 number from my mobile. Despite having told the bank I was coming over they had stopped the card as it could have been a suspect transaction. I shall be marching into nationwide on my return to demand compensation for that call. Which I had to do on speaker phone as my mobile sometimes thinks I have headphones in when I don't. So anyone who was in Macy's yesterday now has all my personal details.
