Fully refreshed from the night before I went for another early morning (shorter) jog round the park, stopping to do some dips & chin ups along the way.
I watched a new show first episode on Amazon prime about the Germans & Japanese winning WW2 before walking half an hour to meet Barry. (Adam Cogan to some). We jumped on the C train I believe into West 4th. Where Ee grabbed lunch in a lovely quiet spot called Bar Sabine, where u can sit & watch the world go by. I had another delightful Burger with cheese, cucumber amongst some of its ingredients. This burger came with shoestring fries inside the main bun. Something Emily had suggested the night before. Perhaps a career as a menu designer awaits.
After lunch Barry took me to the Blind Tiger also in the West Village. Where we debated the key topics of Newcastle United, England's Euro performance, & the Old Novos.
As Barry headed off to work, I opted to walk up to Macy's as the sun was out & it was a beautiful day in New York City.
Soon however in true English fashion & after making it halfway I was too hot. What else to do but stop outside a Starbucks to pirate some Wi Fi and look for a cheap bar. Which is where I stumbled upon Barcade. Located on West 24th between 6th & 7th Ave, it had a huge collection of old Skool video games. For the bargain price of $5 and a couple of beers I played; Xmen, teenage mutant ninja turtles & mortal kombat to name but a few.
At Macy's I picked up my visitors discount & purchased some new flip flops. With time still to kill until dinner I decided to pop into Hooters for a couple. Last time I went to one it was at uni in Nottingham.
After changing for dinner we headed to an Italian restaurant called Ogliastro. We sat out on the patio under Moretti sponsored umbrellas. This seemed very fitting being a Wednesday night as I normally have a Moretti after volleyball. Stefan had not tried one before, and it was one of the cheapest beers on the menu. Dinner was lovely as we shared a meatball pizza & a homemade sausage pizza along with a meat & cheese board.
After dinner Stefan and I headed to a nearby bar for a nightcap outdoors. Though I'm not sure if I really needed anymore beer at this point!
