'HOSTING HIS PRESENCE':
I mentioned in an earlier blog that some of my preconceptions and religious norms have been turned upside down. One of those is the idea that I as a Christian, literally 'Host His Presence'.
This is a new concept to me but is expressed frequently during our stay at Bethel.
In essence, the Bible says that: I am a child of God; the Holy Spirit lives within me and; Living Waters should flow from my innermost being. But, I have never considered this in light of me being able to carry and extend His presence to others and even change the environment or circumstances that I go into. I am now considering this concept in light of the following scriptural reference:
1 John 2:27 (AMP)
But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides permanently in you; so then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. But just as His anointing teaches you concerning everything and is true and is no falsehood, so you must abide in (live in, never depart from) Him being rooted in Him, knit to Him, just as His anointing has taught you to do.
That anointing is the Holy Spirit or His Presence within and is in you.
The latter part of the verse ties with John 15. I am connected to the vine and can do nothing (in the Spirit or of Spiritual value) unless I abide in Him. The outflow of His presence in me is inextricably linked to my abiding in Him. So that when I say ''His presence in me changes the environment or the atmosphere where I am', it only really operates when I am connected to or am abiding in Him.
BUT…when I am abiding, The very presence of God in me can, influence people and events because the Living God who's river is flowing from my innermost being will be bringing the Kingdom of God into my circumstances. What an awesome thought! Can I really believe this? And then bring it into reality by the way I live? I can but I have to abide in Him and then choose to walk it out. What do I mean by 'walk it out'. In the same way that the Bible says 'clothe yourselves with humility', so too I need to live out the reality of 'Christ in me'
I am to be a fractal of Christ
Be blessed as you love Him.
