Last night, being Friday night, we went to Bethel church worship service. The guest speaker was Mario Murillo and he is also speaking in the Sunday services. It was a good service and quite similar in many respects to what Dayspring church are doing.
This morning, Saturday morning, we went to Bethel Church 'healing rooms' . The process is such that you wait at the cafe at the entry to the church. The cafe is known as He-brews (clever pun on the name!). You begin by registering and then you going to the 'encounter room' ; this is like a waiting room but there is live soft worship music with worship in art and worship in dance also taking place at the same time. There are a series of chairs where you can sit and 'soak in the presence' while you wait to be called to the healing room. This is a beautiful soaking experience where you worship and get yourself in a quiet placee in preparation for all that God may want to do as well as preparing your heart. It was a beautiful experience, and if you go for no other reason but to just wait on the Lord it's worth going.
Eventually, you are requested to go into the healing rooms which is a larger room where there are dozens of trained Bethel volunteers waiting to seek the Lord and pray on your behalf. Carole and I sat for a while and a person came eventually over to collect us and with a total team of 3 people who were the allocated persons to pray for us, they said that they began by seeking the Lord before they met me and asked Him for a 'word'. They gave the word and then proceeded to pray over me several times over a period of around 15 mins and although there was no evidence of any healing or improvement, there was encouragement for me to leave with a sense of expectancy and a preparedness to keep on returning for further prayer on other days.
I mentioned my struggle in that I have been prayed for on many occasions over the last two years and although my faith is strong and my belief system also strong for God to heal me, there is a reality that my expectancy level is low (because of much previous prayer) and that I may be carrying some level of disappointment in my heart due to not being healed yet. I mentioned this to them because I didn't want it to become a limit or restriction for God to do a work in me. They responded by saying that there was a 'grace' for honesty and feelings of disappointment and therefore for me to simply relax and allow God to do what He wanted when He wanted. There was an encouragement to 'believe' that God has already begun the process of healing and that it was simply a matter of waiting for the outworking of same.
All in all, it was a really lovely God centered experience of worship and enjoying God's love expressed through the prayer and honour of the prayer team.
I continue to persevere and contend for my healing and a 'God' encounter; praising God for all that He's done in me and for what He wants to achieve in the future. I continue on with a heart of faith and expectancy. God is good and worthy of all our praise and adoration.
Carole has been with me on all these occasions and she has been touched in various ways by the Lord. In fact, I think the Lord has hooked up a battery charge to her because she keeps on getting zapped!
Food is so inexpensive that I now understand why the Americans eat out so much. As an example, yesterday we had all day breakfast at a nearby restaurant at $6 .99 per person; it included a steak meal with an egg and a separate salad . Try getting that back in Australia!.
Well that's enough for today, tomorrow is a new day and a day where we return to Bethel church for their a.m. and p.m. services. At the end of the p.m. service they have prophetic booths where we will attend to see if we can hear a word from the Lord. We're expecting good things from God and of course we should!; cause this is what we have come for.To meet Him! Blessings to all; especially JB and Rob Hamilton if you're both watching this journey.
I welcome hearing from readers.
