Sunday Pre-service Prayer Meeting.
This was like being at a prayer meeting the likes of which I have never experienced before. There was no sitting around praying one person after the other. There was a large room with many seats around the outer walls and seats in the middle. People would either sit and meditate before the Lord while worship music was playing; being in a quiet place of solitude and prayer. Other people would be walking around in a circular pattern worshipping and praying to themselves. Because of the powerful anointing that takes place at Bethel church, many people were manifesting or showing signs of God having touched them. For example some people had laughter and joy bubbling and others had physical signs. There was a combined atmosphere of worship and God's presence. Some times people would spend time together or sit with others praying or walking around the room with others and pray. Some of the pastors were also present at different times including Bill Johnson. At the end of the prayer time we were led into the main auditorium where the church service was being held and the place was packed. I would estimate perhaps 1000 to 1500 people.
P.m. Evening Service.
The worship was the same as the A. M. service and probably went on for about an hour. For the uninitiated or for those who do not easily enter into worship, this would seem to be an extraordinary amount of time to 'just sing songs about God!' However the atmosphere and the very presence of God was so strong that it produced a tremendous sense of being in the throne room. Again for me, the presence of God brought me to tears on a number of occasions.
That message was again preached by Mario Murillo and it was very powerful and inspiring . After the service there was opportunity for prayer and I went forward and again received prayer and prophetic words which was a great blessing and confirmation of some things that God has been speaking to Carole and me over recent years. In terms of healing it has not happened yet, however I keep pressing into God with expectation and I continue to hope in the Lord for healing and that the Lord will move sooner rather than later.
Although Dayspring church has a very similar flavour to this church, the manifest sense of God's presence and the gifting and empowering of the Bethel prayer/ministry team is quite fantastic. We have thoroughly enjoyed the experience here yet at the same time acknowledge the great thing that God is doing (along similar similar lines at Dayspring.
Again, if anyone has any questions or comments, we would love to hear from you and would be happy to respond. We feel blessed and encouraged.
God bless to all.
Tomorrow is a rest day but the evening will be the Prayer Meeting with Jesus Culture.
