Today I combined sightseeing with warm up for my feet and back. A four hours stay in Paris allowed me a nice stroll through the city (the picture shows Notre Dame). I love Paris- it's so alive, pretty, and relaxed. Everywhere you see couples in love, old men drinking cafe, and tourists queuing in front of old buildings.
The train from Paris to Hendaye took another 6h. A very nice, chatty man was sitting next to me . He went for a weekend trip to his house in Biarritz where his family (including 18 grandchildren) would wait for him. But he gave me a lot of tips about the region.
And now I am finally at the ocean. When I looked over the Atlantic I had to think of the two women, mentioned in the book "Hitchhikes guide through the Galaxy", who did the same -watching the huge, endless ocean in silence. After a while the one said to the other "actually I imagined it larger".

LG, Michael
Daimon I'd forgotten that line. Haha! Douglas would be very happy to have read it. Sounds like a great way to start the hike.
vom-atlantik-zum-mittelmeer Richtig.
