A tough and sometimes endless-appearing day. I was playing a game when going neverending uphill slopes: I looked at my Garmin watch showing the total ascend so far. The number it showed me I assumed to be a historical date. Then I started thinking about how the world was at that time. Which historic events just happened, how people lived etc. when I looked again at the watch, centuries had normally past. A nice way to forget the time, but unfortunately I am not always sure about the historical events.
The chalet-hotel is quite crowded. Most people just came to climb the Canigou mountain, which is an easy and popular summit, done in few hours from here. For dinner, they assigned people to sit at certain tables- so I ended up with a group of 8 people-all French. I was a bit tired and not up for too much conversation, but the elderly lady next to me asked all kind of questions, which I answered politely. Minutes later she would tell to everyone at the table what I just said. There was a noisy guy, who was extremely impressed about my hike. He called me "La Champion " and I had to explain all kind of things (how much sport per week, me being vegetarian, where my next holiday would go, etc). Meanwhile I ate soup, pasta, quiche, cheese, and cake.
Consequently , I had a real stomach ache at night - I have to eat less.
