I am so tired. After a long hike combining 2 tours I feel like a rock. Maybe I am turning in a part of the mountain?
The hikes were easy and less spectacular as before. Lots of walking along streets. I left Christine and Philippe in St.-Jean-de Pieds-Port behind and continued alone. I only met two other people today hiking the GR10. The couple is from New Zealand. They want to walk the whole trail this year. They carry huge backpacks (at least the double of my size) and they don't speak any French yet. Both is a challenge here.
Since I have no books with me but 2 iBooks (that were for free in the App Store) my evening entertainment is limited. One of the iBooks is the Grimm's Fairy Tales. The day before yesterday I read the "Brother and Sister" story , when the little brother drinks from a bewitched spring despite the warning of his sister- so he turns into a deer. I did yesterday basically the same -Despite the warning of all the books, which say "don't drink water in the mountains from the springs unless you purify it" I drank liters of wonderful cold, clear spring water. And today my stomach was seriously considering if I should be turned into something. Luckily he is stronger than the mountain witch thought:-).
