Tag 6, St.-Lizier-d'Ustou
I am sitting in a deck chair in the large garden of the most beautiful Gite. It's quiet, apart of the choral music from indoors and some bees flying around.
The peace will not last for long. Apparently a group of 20 people has booked the entire refuge. The landlord made a little error when he accepted my reservation, but he promised to find a solution. We have to wait for the group and see if they accept me to stay. Otherwise, he asked his neighbor if I can stay with him. Funny- let's see how it turns out.
At least I got a shower because I was very sweaty - although it was just a 5.5 h hiking day with only about 1000 m ascent (peace of cake now).
...
The group arrived. Very kind, elderly people, who allowed me to stay with them for the night.
The choral music is J.S.Bach. The landlord blamed me that I am no real German, because I haven't recognized it. Well, usually I don't listen to church corals. Although here, it really fits to the mountain atmosphere - heavenly devine.
The group is really nice. We had a lot of wine and really good food together. The good looking patron of the place is also very entertaining - he actually is from Paris and changed his life completely when he moved 12 years ago to the mountains to operate a green gîte (everything is organic here, even the wine).
Tomorrow it's finally back to the GR10! The best part of the tour - passing the Cascades de l'Ars.
