30km today and feeling quiet good for most of it!
Waking up this morning in a lot of pain but having had a great sleep thanks to a sleeping pill!
Met an old Englishman by the name of Colin who was a great laugh and made it a nice start to the day!
I set off at about 6:30 in the pitch dark and actually caught up to Mike and his to walking mates Phillip from Ireland and Mike.
They were setting a fast pace so I stuck with them - the first time I have actually walked all day with anyone!
I actually really enjoyed the company and it took the focus off my soar knee! We mad Najerra by about 9am and stopped for breakfast!
We were back on the road and aiming for our destination Santo Domingo!
We had eyed off the map and decided we could cut 3-4km of our journey with a shortcut alongside the highway! We took a chance and went for it and it turned out working in our favor!
Reaching our destination by 1:30pm myself and Phillip checked in to the Albergue whilst Colin and Mike treated themselves to a night at a hotel!
The town is quiet small but quiet nice and has a great big Dia store to stock up on supply's!
Today was a much better day - I felt like I didn't push it to hard and my knee only hurt in a few sections! I also found the company of the three older lads was nice and a welcome change to my previous solitude!
