Today our daughter flew home in the afternoon, so after she was packed we took her out to enjoy the warm Perth sun at a cafe on Cottesloe Beach. We sat outside (Cadbury too) enjoying the sun's heat on our backs and indulging in some delicious orange cake, scones with amazing raspberry preserves and cream, and coffees and a mango banana smoothie.
Drove to the airport with my friend and her son, who was flying back to Melbourne with Sivan. Said quick goodbyes out the front of the airport (although we both felt sad to see them go as we've had a totally delightful week with them here).
Then she and I drove to the nearby hills (stopping to pick some overhanging lemons from industrial land) and took the zig zag drive, which steadily and scarily winds its way around some amazing bush properties right to the top of the escarpment where we were rewarded with an amazing Perth city skyline just as the sun began to set behind the clouds and the sun's rays shone through like some god-like sign from above.
Drove back to Cottesloe as the rain teemed down - this city is worse than Melbourne with how many seasons you get in one day!
Had an early night cosied up in our little home on wheels and began looking at the maps and thinking about the next adventure, as we head slowly home over the next six weeks.
Good night, sleep tight xx
