Today we drove to the Swan Valley in the afternoon, first to the cute town of Guildford, with its visitor centre, old cottage, museum and jail. Then we started the food and wine loop, stopping at the Margaret River Chocolate Company to taste chocolate as well as chocolate liquor and a range of other local sweet and savory produce. We stopped at All Saints Anglican Church set in the Swan River, the oldest church in WA, and walked through the old, well tended graveyard where we read the tombstones of long ago.
We visited one of the boutique wineries to taste wine and cheese and enjoyed relaxing in the afternoon sunshine on the deck of Mandoon Estate, which produces beer and cider. Drank the most amazing cider ever, made using locally grown Granny Smith apples from Donnybrook using a special cold pressing technique.
Headed back home for dinner and some down time.
Night night xx
