Left our beachside campsite this morning in perfect wind still conditions, heading towards Exmouth, some 500km south.
We spent the day driving, checking out the mostly flat, red Pilbara plains with some undulating hills for interest.
We came across some stray cows by the roadside, with a couple of youngsters playfully fighting each other.
To pass time we continued our audio book as we made our way south.
We thought to stop for the night at a large well populated rest stop next to a river, but as the wide river bed was totally dry, making the surrounding area dusty and uninteresting, that we'd push closer to the turn off to Exmouth.
We pulled in to a tiny rest area just before sunset. Several other caravans were already there. We sat outside, with the vast plain as our backdrop, and enjoyed wine and nibbles and another lovely Pilbara sunset. As the sky darkened, we headed indoors to cook a quick pasta before setting in to continue watching Breaking Bad.
Tomorrow we reach Exmouth and can find out about snorkeling and whale sharks.
Good night from us xx
