Today we took the opportunity of the weather improving to take a drive north of Perth along the coast, exploring Cottesloe, City Beach, Scarborough and the northern beaches.
It was lovely to see the Indian Ocean in the sunshine as the weather the past few days has been windy and rainy. There were surfers out enjoying the waves at every beach we stopped at.
We drove all the way to Joondalup and then headed back to the city to explore Kings Park. Enjoyed a coffee sitting in the afternoon sun and spent some time looking closely at the memorial to the Jewish soldiers who fought in WW1. The monument was unveiled by Sir John Monash in 1919 and there were plaques written in both English and Hebrew, with the names of all the soldiers on one of the plaques. Many wreaths lay at the base, put there on ANZAC day by every Jewish community organisation in Perth.
Gadi and Cadbury went for a walk in the gorgeous Botanic Gardens and I read my book, warming my back in the sun.
Our Melbourne friends met us at the park, where we were lucky enough to enjoy a gorgeous sunset over the Swan River, with the sunlight reflected off the tall glass city buildings.
We drove back to Freo in peak hour traffic - still not as bad as Melbourne peak hour - and enjoyed dinner cooked for us.
An early night tonight as we were all tired out.
Night night, let's hope we all have sweet dreams xx
