Surprised ourselves by waking up really early, packed our last few things and made a toasted wrap each to eat for brekky later, and were on our way by 6.45am.
The drive west towards Perth wasn't too bad as we alternated driving and we continued listening to our audio book that we started on the Nullarbor - The Rosie Project.
We booked a place to stay for a few days next to Fremantle through Airbnb. We will then stay with our friend later in the week, as we will likely be in Perth for at least a week, probably more, as we have to search for a new caravan, have it fitted to our requirements for free camping (battery, solar power and safety equipment),and then there will be the difficult task of sorting through the stuff that we have freighted from Esperance.
We stopped only for a couple of toilet stops and a quick lunch, so we decided to visit the caravan dealership where we have seen a couple of caravans online that may be suitable for us. We got there st 3pm, and by the time we left at 5 we were more confused than ever.
We drove to our new accommodation, stopping at the beach and marina first, just in time for the last remnants of a gorgeous sunset over the Indian Ocean. We spoke to the kids on the phone as we enjoyed the sunset and then we were surprised by a quick visit at the beach by a dear old Melbourne friend who has moved to Perth this week.
Time to get to our new home just on dark, and after a quick shower, we drove to the Fremantle Markets to get some dinner and spend some time catching up with our Perth friend.
As I write this at the end of a very long and exhausting day, knowing that the next week ahead will be full on and filled with difficult decisions I am grateful to have arrived in one piece, for being here in time to celebrate Passover in a community setting and for having friends so far away from home.
And on that note, I am exhausted and can hear my bed calling me.
Night night, sweet dreams xx
