The journey home.
These words are also the name of one of the final chapters in "Lord of the Rings" and I really hope that the journey continues with "There and back again" - which is the book Bilbo Baggins was writing in the "Hobbit" - indicating that I will come back and continue with the second half of the GR10 to arrive at the Mediterranean.
Anyway the journey home started in Toulouse with a good breakfast (not just baguette and jam like on the other days) followed by a stroll through Toulouse where we admired the Pont Neuf and the gothic Jacobin church with it's amazingly heigh ceiling and huge windows. After a last coffee we went to the station were Daimon took the bus to the airport and I the TGV to Paris.
Now its time to reflect about this journey. I met many nice people (especially Nienke) and went through a number of exciting situations. Especially in the first two weeks - traveling alone I experienced absolute freedom. That was unique although traveling with a friend is more relaxing and of course more entertaining.
My travel gear was nearly perfectly chosen - apart of the winter cloth, Bikini, and water purification pills. The travel book of Paul Lucia about the GR10 was helpful although it's descriptions are sometimes somewhat confusing.
The GR 10 is a great hiking route which I recommend you to experience for yourself. Thanks to all of you accompanying me by reading my blog and commenting it by emails and text messages.
It was a great time.
Au revoir and Bisous!
