Too much are hap'nin this side, so here's the shortened version of some of my recent highlights and lowlights:
1) Planning a trip to Ireland (YAY!!!);
2) Sitting on the steps by the Eros Statue by Piccadilly Station late on a Sunday night just talking random nonsense;
3) Missioning in Covent Garden in the morning hours trying to find a cure for my chocolate craving, only to receive a free chocolate from some guy on a bike!
4) Meeting up with friends to discuss our Scotland trip over a "very quick cup of coffee" and basically 6 hours and 4 bottles of wine later and a dancing session with a guy that looked like Eminem....
5) Becoming groupies at the Irish pub on Sundays to listen to some kick-a$$ live Irish music!
6) Going to Turnmills on a Saturday afternoon to support my DJ friends.... and to dance for about 6 hours straight with not a single drop of alcohol. All i can say is, is that if you're high on life and have a passion for dancing (and 2 Red Bulls), anything is possible!
7) Giving a ladybug a lift from the wall at my house to the corner cafe. (Its the small things in life people, the small things).
8) Having dinner at a gorge restaurant in Covent Garden and feeling like bursting into song like Eliza in My Fair Lady.
9) Spending time with children at an under-privileged school, them giving me flowers and insisting that i put it in my hair.... one girl nearly crying cause i had to leave and she didn't get a chance to finish a flower-chain she was making for me.... and then as i was leaving two little girls came up to me and said "you're pretty".... probably the most meaningful compliment I ever got...
And then, only because i know how much you enjoy my blonde moments:
1) Asking someone on my b'day what the date was;
2) Giving someone directions to my house and telling them my front door is blue.... only to discover its actually black!
3) Telling Dianne that I'll wear a burqa when I get to Dubai, and when someone takes a picture i'll cross my eyes so people will know its me ..... only to get the response that they'll spot me easier than that cause i'll be the only one wearing a burqa... (You dont have to wear a burqa apparently...)
4) Asking my housemate - after living there for 5 months - how the oven works...
(I just bought a packet of "Fruits, Nuts and Seeds" and on the packet it says "Warning: May contain traces of nuts". Huh? What the..?!?Its like saying on a chocolate bar "Be careful, there might be chocolate inside"?!? It makes me think of the other day when i was contemplating buying a tuna sandwich for lunch and it said "Dolphin friendly". Say, what? I dont want a dolphin to be associated with my sandwich in any way, whether its a friendly one or not. That was my useless piece of info for the day).
Its been an amazing few weeks!! I find myself so happy and content... I chat up strangers, whether its the vending-machine guy, a lost stranger at a bus stop or an old lady that dropped all her groceries.... Its like waking up on a Saturday morning, slapping on some sunscreen, putting on my favourite summery clothes, grabbing my shades and thinking "Oee, yay, What am i gonna see today? What experiences lie ahead? Who can I smile at? What can i learn?". Its friggin fab, thats all i can tell ya! Actually I've been so bubbly that Dave said to me yesterday that I'm like the nutty-squirrel in Over the Hedge and that I wasn't allowed to buy the energy bubblegum in the Candy store!! Which brings me to another point: There's this Candy store close to Leicester Square that sells chocolate coated bugs. No, .....really! They've got chocolate with ants inside, chocolate covered scorpions and other bugs, then they also have dried worms with Bacon and Cheese seasoning and Crickets with Mexican seasoning....! They also had a box with 50 different Jelly Bean flavours and about 6 or 7 different flavoured kit-kats.... they even had the Wonka bar from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!! I was in my element!! Liesl-Heaven!
Then, i have to quickly make a special mention to Jens. It was his b'day last friday and i didn't phone him :-( Sooooo sorry.?*me bursting into song*?"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIIIRTHDAY DEAR JEEENS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU". I hope you had a fabulicious day! xxx
Cheers everybody! My next update will be after IRELAND!!
