Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears!
SCENE I: Fair London. Enter LIESL of the House of Earlsfield.
Good-morrow my fellow gentlemen and ladies! The sun is but a few hours old! With the coldness augmenting the fresh morning dew. Adding to clouds more clouds with my deep thoughts; But all so soon as the all-cheering sun. Tut, I have lost myself; I am not here; O, teach me how I should forget to think. Fellow friends, you are looked for and called for, asked for and sought for, in the great chamber.
SCENE II: Riverfront by Waterloo: Television show: IBM Building
I'd love to start my e-mail with our really awesome Saturday evening, but alas! I have to take you all the way back to the day of Thursday last week when Marcos' beautiful sister got us tickets for THE PARKINSON SHOW! (British TV Talk Show). It was nice to see "behind the scenes" with how you get told when to clap, when to cheer, when to laugh... see all the camera's, etc. etc. The guests were: er.... the guy from Monty Python (Michael Paling - I think?), some woman from East Enders (Wendy-something) and some guy from Love Island (Patrick-something). We had a good laugh - was really fun! The episode was already screened on TV last Saturday, so we didn't get to watch it.. which brings me to our amazing Saturday evening.
SCENE III: South Kensington: Angel Choir: Royal Albert Hall
My crazy fun-loving friend, Kirsten, sings in a choir who performed at the Royal Albert Hall. The music ... the orchestra .... the atmosphere .... the Hall ... the sound ... ... was just incredible! Just the art of playing some of those instruments!! And the amazing voices!! Wow! Marcos and i were also oo-ing and aah-ing over the amazing building. We did take a few pics so will send them soon! I got totally lost in the music and being in such an awesome place it felt like i was wearing a big ball gown with a feather in my hair, real gentlemen kissing me on my hand and calling me "Miss", ocassionally looking up to see the Queen in the Royal box, .... *sigh*... ag i would've SO fitted in being a Victorian girl !! (The only time my mind drifted was when i noticed a little "barrier" behind the conductor and i was wondering how many conductors had to fall off stage before they put it there!! Ha Ha!).
SCENE IV: West Hampstead. House of Levin-Moseley
After that we went back to Kirsten (and Darren)'s place for a quite bottle of wine and some good music. It was another friend's birthday so we had a surprise birthday cake and some birthday poppers. (Ok, so blondie had another "moment" when she didn't know how to open the popper-thingies... so i opened it the wrong way and it exploded in my hand!!! i swear it felt like i lost my thumb, but there's not even a bruise. it was REALLY SORE!!! Hey!, there was no instructions, what can i say...).
SCENE V: Southside Mall: Feasting and stuffing of the faces
Sunday we had a lazy day and ended up having dinner at the...*drum-roll*... SPUR!! (But in our defence, its the only half-decent restaurant thats next to the movies and we're always early for the movie and then end up at the Spur to have either a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine). After the movie, Marcos and i went to The Leather Bottle (like a restaurant/pub) and played a few games of Tavla (aka Tavli, aka BackGammon). Marcos kicked my a$$ big time, but its only cause i let him win. ;-) We got very addicted to Tavla when we went to Turkey, so we still enjoy a good game!
Hope you're all well. Just a few things i need to mention: Kirsten, please will you send me some pics of Saturday? Tanya, i'll write you a personal e-mail soon!!!Jason, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!Lene, LOVED your china mail....! Heidi, kisses to the peeps.DJ Dave, I was eating "Slow-Roasted-Lamb-and Moroccan spices"-flavoured chips and it got me thinking... do vegetarians eat meat-flavoured chips? I mean, do they actually make the flavouring from real meat or would that be ouma's secret spices? mmmm...makes you think.... Also, pls can i have James' e-mail addie? thanks! Deidre, Justin (I dreamt of you last night!), Elsa, Hads, Phil, Melissa ... havent heard from you in a while....ggrrrrr!Mom, Dad, will phone you on the weekend!!!Oh, and mom, have you named the little swan yet? i thought you should call it Lady Charlotte.
