Isn't technology amazing? i'm at the internet cafe and managed to connect to highveld stereo, so while typing i'm listening to "Jo'burgs nr 1 hit music station". Cool hey!
So i thought i'd write a bit about the quaint little place: Oxford. On Saturday we went on a Hop-on-Hop-off bus whichbasi...(YOU HAVE TO EXCUSE BECAUSE THIS STUPID KEYBOARD'S SPACEBAR IS F...S...ER.... BROKEN AND I'M NOT GONNA FIX THE WORDS EVERYTIME SO JUST BEAR WITH ME....GGGGRRRRR) . So where was i? we went on a Hop-on-Hop-off buss whichis basically a bus that takes youaround town and youhave to putonearpho...(ARGH STUPID KEYBOARD!!! .... *taking a deep breath*) ...you have to put on earphones because there's this quirky old dude telling youabout all the buildings and stuff... and this is what he said: as;lkdjfkmdiw;elkjd, ;laksdjf ;lajsdfiem jdiemd ;alkiden,/; ;alskdjfoiend;. Interesting hey? Moral: i didn't understand one word as he's accent was that bad! honestly! even marcos said he didn't understand, so for all of you that insinuated... *raising-eyebrows-at-Michelle*... that it was my hearing: it wasn't. Oxford is really a beautiful little place and we had suchan awesome time! *pausing*. Ok so there isn't much to tell... other than "Oxford's really nice".
I also thought the other day that i should share more about the day-to-day happenings of london so that you can get a better idea of what it is like to live in london. (ok, so some of you have lived here recently and some..er... 20 years ago (its actually 30 years ago, but i didn't want to give my parents' age away *said-in-a-whisper*), so lets just make it 20. *frownin* No, but that wouldn't work, because then i would be 7 and i dont remember being in London when i was 7... oh my goodness now i'm totally off the subject.... where was i? London has been such an eye-opener. i think every person needs to come to london just once in their life....Like the other night, Marcos went out with friends to a really awesome pub called Ben Crouch, so i missioned across town in the middle of the night, following my little map, and voila! i found it! So upon entering the really-awesome-pub-called-Ben-Crouch, Marcos wasn't there and after phoning him I established he's at pub called WaxyO'Conner (luckily i had proof of an sms that he said Ben Crouch - so i won that argument! haha!!) . So there i am missioning inthe middle of thenight in the middle of london trying to find WaxyO'Conner (cause marcos couldn't tell me the street address nor give me directions). Every street corner i got to i asked for directions (ok, so i should just add that this is all in Soho, which is very gay and very busy. so if i can paint a picture: imagine Sandton City at 15:00 on the 24th of December, but only outside and its dark. So there are people everywhere!! the place is buzzing!) I of course had a blast asking all the gorgeous gay guys where to go, cause they were just so friendly and so gay and so gorgeous! It was just awesome walking through town all by myself - not feeling threatened or scared or nothing.... justso in awe that the city is so alive with so manythings happening all around me! i finally got to WaxyO'Conners (without getting lost once - but thats only cause i'm female and our brains dont sit in our boobs *said-very-seriously*).
Basically london never sleeps. so when you come to london: youdont sleep either. there's justtoo much to do!! also, when i initially got here, i often used to see people running, to catch the bus... and i always thought "i would never run for a bus! why would i run if i know there wil be another one in about 10mins? They look so stupid!". Ok, so i thought too quickly. (and i know how youguys just love my embarassing stories). So there i was a couple of mornings ago ariving at Bank station at 9:28. That would leave me only 2 minutes to get to work with a 10 min bus journey.... So i'm crossing the road and had to stop in the middle when i looked to the left and i spotted my bus approaching!! but now i'm a good 30/40 meters away and i'm not even on the right side of the road. so there i am running on the middle-island btween the cars in peak traffic.... (ok people, picture it in slow-mode, with Chariots of Fire playing in the background). There i am running next to the bus, no actually i was sprinting for dear life, spilling half my Latte all over my clothes, nearly tripping over my scarf which was bynow draggin on the floor.....to nearly get knocked over by a car (but i couldn't care less at the time) to barely jumping on as the doors close.. all red-face and out of breath... looking like s***e.... So thats why people run, cause sometimes you're just late!
But every morning is so different. I take the same bus, the same trian, the same tube, but every morning is different. As there's always different people, some on holiday dragging a suitcase, or busy on their blackberry's, people in suits, people in casual clothes.... old, young... some drinking coffee, some eating breakfast (i often spoil myself with a latte on the way to work... my FAVOURITE). life is just so interesting.
Its nearly 20:00and i'm getting hungry now. Cheers (as in "bye" not "thank you"!) xxxxx
