This is a loooong mail that says a whole lot of nothing. Don't moan! I did warn you...
I'm having a very "random-thoughts" day. It started this morning when I woke up and wondered what the time was (I forgot my cell at work), contemplating whether I'm late for work, or whether I'm able to stay in bed for another 5 minutes. Then it took me 20 mins to decide what to wear. (Lying on your back on the floor is the perfect way to make this decision. This is especially great if you have a view of the photos on your wall cause then you can go on a trip down memory lane whilst choosing between the black long pants or the black three-quarter pants).
Then once dressed and finally on the train I had a really arb conversation with my housemate, which left my brain a bit frazzled. Brendon always has this habit of saying: "Morning sunshine! Go make the difference" and then at night he says: "So, did you make the difference?" Its kinda fun thinking of things I did during the day (...or didn't do. But my motto is, that if you think of things, its nearly the same as doing them. Well, sort of.)
Then as I arrived at Waterloo station I had a very random thought which left me giggling by myself, but I just cant help it if my brain goes on a tangent without my permission!! There was this seriously tall guy - I mean TALL. Like, if I had to walk into the back of him my nose would get stuck between his... Oh, sorry maybe it is after all a bit rude, but it was funny at the time! He must've been about 7ft! No jokes! I felt so freaked out that I started running really fast in the opposite direction (pretending of course that I was running for the train).
Then, once at the office, I managed to finish my entire month's quota of chocolate-coated brazil nuts. (Tip: If you're gonna have a sugar rush, make sure you do it after 11 am, otherwise the guilt-trip starts far to early in the day). I have also now proceeded to finish all 8 meringue nests from Marks & Spencer. Its "suitable for vegetarians" so it should be healthy. (JUST KIDDING, but a statement like that sounds like it could be accurate). No actually i'm lying. I ate 7 of the 8. There's still one left that i'm saving for tomorrow.
I hate it when I bump into colleagues at the coffee machine! They always seem to ask me "So how you settling down?" OH FOR GOODNESS' SAKE, I'VE BEEN HERE FOR A YEAR! Then we would have an even more stupid conversation about London and the weather. I always ask "Have-you-been-to-South-Africa?" (cause they're guaranteed to say no). I hate it when people criticize South Africa. It's a great country! I get rather pi$$ed off at STUPID FOREIGNERS. (I, of course, also tell them that in a very sweet-but-b!tchy way). Yes, so what: you have the pound, but at least OUR GUYS DON'T SOUND GAY WHEN THEY TALK! (To all my pommy friends: no offence!). (The South African and Kiwi accent got ripped off on radio this morning, so I guess it's a global-accent-rip-off-thing).
Then another random thought I had today was "names". I mean, here at my office we have Jabez, Toufik, Araceli and Lubom... with surnames such as Bulgakov, Achimescu, Antczak, and Zakrzewski. The sad thing is, even tho I cannot pronounce Zak-r-zew-ski, half the people here CANNOT PRONOUNCE MY NAME. So basically, for some people I've got the "weird name". (Haha, I just had another thought: imagine having a few glasses of wine and being introduced to Agnieszka Wojtasiewicz! "Hello, Agniiessshhhka". Shame, no I'm sorry, I don't mean to make fun of people but goodness there are some difficult names out there! We do also, of course, have easy surnames like: Stapel, Fo.k, King, Kong, Butt, Bonk and Bodycombe. HAHA!).
And before you guys all think I do NOTHING all day (like some of you kindly stated in your last mails *giving you the evil eye*)... I really do work in between my spurts of random thoughts. I'm busy with this really complicated Excel document which has about 11 sheets, each with a couple of hundred rows (yes, hundred. The one has over a 1,000!!) and to get everything to add up really can burn out your brain. So that's why I don't feel bothered if I have blonde moments cause your brain needs to balance itself out! Hehe, oh well at least that's my theory.
I had an AWESOME time with my cousin last weekend in Chester/Liverpool and will send you an update soon! My mom oh-so-kindly mentioned that my emails aren't detailed enough (very demanding!), so I need to spend a bit of time on that one. Cherio from a very moody London... (I am obviously referring to the weather and not me. Duh!)
