So, who knows the story of The Nutcracker? If there is anybody that doesn't, then that would make me feel much better! There i was on Friday night feeling very excited as i'm taking my seat and the ballet is about to start. As the first half continued my expression went from a very excited smile to a very confused "huh"? Even though the dancing was brilliant and the costumes absolutely exquisite ... the story was a complete mystery to me! (Jo explained it and then for the 2nd half it kinda made sense....). (Oh, and need i mention the male ballet dancers! Crikey!! Do they have to wear such tight pants? Or no, it wasn't really even pants, it was more along the lines of half-see-through-stockings. It was very distracting. No wonder i couldn't grasp the story!)
The rest of the weekend was very chilled... we've been having really fab weather!! I think it must've been about 17 degrees yesterday!! Thats very hot! ;-) Its nice to look up and see a beautiful blue sky hiiiigh above and not this dreary, moody grey cloud that hovers over your head! Even though (and i'm sure i've mentioned this before) the sky seems so much higher and wider in Africa, i sure have seen some of the most beautiful sunsets here in London! Yesterday i went to Waterloo station, just to get out of the house, and ended up spending quite a few hours there! (If i could just explain: Waterloo is by the river and its also where the London Eye is so there are many, many tourists. There are many musicians, magicians and also actors which would, for example, completely cover themselves in silver paint and pretend they're a statue.... its very entertaining!! I ended up watching this Rastafarian dude play guitar .. i was completely mesmerized. I just couldn't leave!!) Hope you're all well.. missing you like crazy! Ciao! xx
