"You give and take away."
That's from a song we sing at church. And at the moment, I definitely feel like things are being taken away. In the form of material posessions anyway.
I'm still waiting for my pack to arrive back. It's arrived in San Diego Tues (after the airline I got re-routed to refused to take it Monday) but it's Thurs now and it still hasn't been delivered. And it's got my toiletries, my clothes, my blanket, sleeping bag, pilllow and more "essentials." But maybe they aren't really so necessary: I'm surviving OK, thanks to my lovely flatmates.
Then there's my address book, which I'm still waiting on over three months later. The friend of a friend who was going to post it from the US (as Kenyan mail's a bit dodgy) forgot to. And then I received my broken camera back yesterday, still broken - I'd sent it off for repairs and it got returned as the address for repairs has changed.
And I'm off to Canada tomorrow.
So maybe I'll just take my schoolbag with my toothbrush, my passport, my bible and a few other essentials and see how I go. Maybe all the other stuff really isn't so essential.
