On the road again on what we think is our 9th anniversary. Or maybe it's tomorrow; neither of us can remember, but we're going to have a bottle of wine tonight anyway, and another tomorrow nite just to cover all the bases! (Rich had thoughtfully packed a birthday card for my birthday Sept. 25; this morning he asked if he could have it back so he could give it to me again as an anniversary card....he cracks me up!
We are in the very comfortable Hotel Monaco in the tranquil town of Los Arcos - population 1300. The bells of the beautiful St Mary of the Arches church were peeling as we entered into town so we went in and came upon a baptism - darling wee baby with beautiful lace covered baptismal gown and a gaggle of family members pinching his/her cherubic cheeks. We sat on a pew in awe of the sumptuous interior of this Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque church dating back to the 12th century. The entire ceiling is painted with biblical scenes; how long would it take the artist(s) to do that??
What a difference a day makes for our feet. Lots of pain starting out at 6:30 and within a few minutes, like the Everready bunny, we feel we could go forever.
By the way, if you are sending comments to our blog, we are unable to pick them up; we will when we can get to an Internet cafe, so keep those cards & letters coming in!

Nice anniversary dinner in the hotel: peregrine meal and to sleep early. I am starting to have some insights on some changes I would like to see. Maybe a bit more work in my future? Who knows; many miles to think yet.
