Boils, boils and more boils . . .
Morning walk around the lake at 7am with the restaurant owners and their friends, good start to the day, followed by a stop off for lemon tea.
I decided to walk to view the caves today after a cuppa with City Heart owner and I cooked us some warm apple, banana, dates and honey, every now and then I get the urge to cook.
So I trekked up the hill seeing a monastery on the way, at the top it was foggy so I couldn't see a thing, was expected if I'm honest.
The walk to the caves was pleasant, really peaceful away from the noise of the town. However, they were closed due to it being monsoon, but never the less .
After the pleasant but unsuccessful walk another trip to the chemist, my daily hit, to buy antihistamines for all my boiled bites, keeps the pervs away the state of my body, I look diseased!.
This too was successful and unsuccessful as I got my meds but I could hear something down beside the shop, like animals fighting. It was one of the live stock killing places and the guy was killing a chicken, urgh, the nerves kept the bird flapping for about 2minutes, there was nothing I could do but listen as the guy was serving me, I thought I was going to be sick. On my way out I walked past the dumpster where the dogs were scavenging raw bits of chicken and cows. I took my favourite street chai guys cups of tea on the stairs overlooking the flats (recreation ground), kids playing footy while reading a book for a couple hours for me to feel well again. What's wrong with me ?
That evening I had arranged to meet Sanjeev and Vikram for a trip to the private boat house. So a few whiskies and packets of unhealthy masala nut mixes later, overlooking the lake with lots of interesting convos later, we popped to the restaurant for food.I ordered my new favourite dish, tandoori cooked cottage cheese dipped in every other dish on the table. I was so full and happy. Lovely people and a free evening I couldn't complain.
Sanjeev walked me back to my hotel, hadn't realised how late it was, 11.30, my golly gosh. Just about to strip off when I got a knock on the dog. The owner (Papbo or something) invited me on the rooftop for a beer.
Again I can't describe the moonlit view and peace. Papbo was saying how he was disappointed as he thought I was going to be joining him for beers all night and he had told people to wait up for me, and that he thought we coulda gone trekking today, he had that in his head bla bla bla. On the first day I had kinda got the impression that he got rather friendly with his guests, he has another property where you do a jungle trek to get to where he has his own apple orchard, which he said I was more than welcome to join him to for free, hmmmm! So I had made sure I didn't agree to anything, and told him that tonight, that I had made other plans, it was almost like the moment I had checked in he had planned a romantic 2nights and 3days together dreaming it up in his head. So he creeped me out a bit, although I just think he's being friendly, like everyone is in this town.
He is like that with everyone, gets his guitar out and drinks on the roof with them on an evening, but I like to do my own thing I suppose. The fact he had made these plans for me and him made me purposely do the exact opposite. xx
