And the pain begins . . .
Oh yes I was achy from the hatha class, nothing too concerning. So I decided to do the ashtanga class at 9 which is the advanced class after my one hatha class, I'm clearly a pro now. So erm well that was interesting, I was sweating such hard work, I hated it at the time but I battled through and the yogi noticed I was back so he pushed me further. However, I have a love hate relationship with yoga. I can do the headstand without a wall and hold for a long time but I get bored staying in one position that I find easy. The yogi offered me a lift on his bike to Bhagsu but I said another time as I want to move there.
I ended up spending the day with Jeannie who is doing the same course as me, we had dinner, where I finally had some veg instead of just bread and potatoes. We walked to Bhagsu where I had been with Karen and Mimi the day before to see the waterfall. Jeannie is so funny, she just buys everything, and it's going to cost her a fortune to send it all to Canada. I now have a weird Canadian/American accent as that is who I hang out with and they struggle if I speak normally.
We ended up in a cafe in Bhagsu where a family of about 10 got their photo taken with us one by one, I thought she was asking for the menu not a photo, but again at least they were polite enough to ask instead of just taken it like everyone else.
4.30 hatha yoga we went to to try and prepare us for 4 hours of yoga a day we will be doing on the course, my hammies were not happy about this. But I did the scorpion, which is like a handstand but on your forehands and you bend your legs back over towards the head, I did it against the wall and pushed away and held it, so I'm pleased I have the strength in my upper body to do this as people struggle with this and I'm not as flexible as others, my knees and ankles are my weakness as they are painful in certain positions so I have to take it slow.
Went for tea with Karen and Co and Jeannie. It's funny coz you can't really have a late night here, the restaurants kick you out and everywhere just shuts down so you are forced to bed, plus the gate to my accommodation closes at 11.30.
Jeannie takes her leftovers out to feed the animals. I am yet to have leftovers the food is good and I'm not over ordering, the portions can be huge in some places. So we were feeding a monkey some rice,Jeannie wouldn't give it the spicy sauce, apparently that would be cruel. There are quite a few beggars but you just have to ignore them.
Bit info, my accommodation is 350rupees per night you can get it for 100 but you get what you pay for, my room is huge so I can practice pilates and I have a proper toilet and shower. I also have the luxury of a carpet. Some rooms are like damp prison cells where you share the toilet and shower. xx
