My last day of freedom . . .
Had a sleep in 'til 8ish today. Had breakfast with Darren where I ended up tagging myself along to the hot springs.
Firstly basket ball with Mimi in the rain on the same court as the monks playing footy (this place is littered with monks). I kept throwing the ball off their heads accidentally when aiming for the hoop.
After my cold shower, as the electricity keeps going off today, I walked up my 218 stairs to bump into Mike the Austrian guy who I keep bumping into. Went for tea and the banana and chocolate cake at lhamos, my first bit of cake since being here, I have to say was yummy, very addictive. When Mike left me as I had to get my bag sorted he admitted that he purposely was walking around the stairs hoping to bump into me (creepy). He was trying to arrange a set time to meet up again but I fobbed him off with my course, I always assumed the girl he was with was his partner but she's not. Trust me an innocent cuppa like I do with everyone leads to awkwardness with a 36yr old.
Met up with a group at the square and we got a taxi to the hot springs, I think they are somewhere in Kangra. We pulled up on a roadside and walked along this muddy path surrounded by trees next to the river. We came to an opening where you walk through the river, but with it being monsoon it was peeing down so we just paddled as it was too dangerous to cross as with all the rain if we went over we might have got stranded on the other side for a couple days or swept away by the current. You waddle through the water waist deep, I was game but I know I'm not to do silly life threatening things. So we were just skimming stones on the water then headed back to the car drenched.
Went to carpe diem for tea with Darren and Anna, the others went elsewhere. I realised it was 11 and I start my course in the morning and I'm rather tired so headed to bed in wonderment of who I will be spending my next month with. xx
